Foggy Moon

Pictures of images sent to Open Shutter Gallery for the show.

Above is the framed version, which is a black and sepia mix,
while below is the first print that was good (b.a.t.).  The one that was sent to the gallery matted (but not framed) is a fully sepia version, so much warmer.  Much of the fun of hand-made prints like these is the variety of contrast and color I can get as I make prints.

Game Lights, Winter Night

Pictures of images sent to Open Shutter Gallery for the show.

Above is the framed version, with some red added to the sky,
while below is the first print that was good (b.a.t.) that is similar (slight color difference) to the one available matted.

The Handmade Photograph (at Open Shutter Gallery)

I am very proud to have been invited to show with this group.

January 23 - March 4, 2015

Open Shutter Gallery
735 Main Avenue
Durango, CO 81301

Reception is Friday, January 23
5 - 8 pm

I will have framed prints as well as prints in mats at the show.  They are small.  They are priced to sell (because more people should have hand-made prints in their collections, and not just inkjet or drug store processed snap shots)

Much of the appeal of a show like this is when the viewer recognizes the care given to each print, the fact that the artist put his/her hand on each print, brought it to life, and there was a moment in which the image emerged through work and direct contact with the process; a moment of recognition that the image is special, unique, something that is more than an image.

Additionally, a show like this hosts a variety of printing methods.  Some techniques are very involved and difficult, while others are quite accessible to most people.
